Open House

Posted On: June 30, 2017

I would like to thank all for attending my Open House, held on October 24th and 25th.  I enjoyed spending time with the people I already know and meeting new people,  I am never disappointed when meeting fellow quilters, the warmth, creativity, and talent is endless. Thanks to all for your support.

For anyone who has prepared for any event large or small you know how hard it is and can not be successful without help. I can not thank my dear friend, Eileen, enough.  On the Friday before the Open House she was in the kitchen helping me with the cooking and baking.  She never missed a beat the only questions she asked was what else needs to be done. She was tireless on Saturday and Sunday coming early and leaving late.  Thank you Eileen, you are a gem.

Jackie brought her Row by Row Quilt to share. This picture does not do the quilt justice. Beautiful job Kathy.

I would like to thank all for the quilt scraps donated pictured are some of the nine beds I presented to Save-A-Pet in Port Jefferson, on Monday.

A special thanks goes to, my friend, Eileen, as always she has gone above and beyond, she donated some of the fleece fabric above, cut up the fleece, helped me sew
them together, and cut up two green leaf bags of scraps.

This is Bailey testing the pet bed, made by Eileen, doesn't he look comfy.

With Eileen's help we have made several of these.  I saw a video for this on a video by, Missouri Star Quilt company, Jenny Doan, stuffed the beds with leftover scraps of fabric and batting.  I thought want a wonderful way to use all those scraps that I have been saving, you know the ones we say we will use in a project, but never do.  Then to take it one step further I decide to make and donate these to local animal rescue groups in the area.
